 Distribution Manager – Leigh, NE

The Distribution Manager oversees warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, accurate order fulfillment, timely shipping and receiving, and a safe working environment. This role includes supervising staff, improving processes, and working with other departments to optimize operations.


Key Responsibilities


Team Management:
• Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, including hiring and performance management.
• Promote a positive work environment and teamwork.
• Schedule tasks to ensure smooth workflow and resource use.


Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate inventory records with inventory management software.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement.
• Implement processes to minimize errors and prevent losses.


Order Fulfillment:
• Coordinate picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders.
• Work with sales and customer service to prioritize orders.
• Ensure orders are accurate and properly packaged.


Shipping and Receiving:
• Oversee shipping and receiving operations, verifying shipments for accuracy.
• Coordinate with dispatch and carriers for optimized delivery schedules.
• Address any shipping or receiving issues promptly.


Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement ways to improve warehouse processes.
• Increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Regularly analyze performance metrics to track improvements.


Safety and Compliance:
• Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Conduct regular safety training for staff.
• Comply with all warehouse regulations, including OSHA guidelines.


Equipment and Facilities:
• Manage and maintain warehouse equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs to prevent downtime.
• Optimize warehouse layout for efficient storage and retrieval.


Reporting and Communication:
• Generate regular reports on inventory, order processing, and performance.
• Communicate with departments like purchasing, sales, and finance for alignment on inventory and operations.


Additional Duties:
• Optionally continue selling to your current customer base.
• Optionally continue coordinating sprayers.


Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience in warehouse management or a related role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse best practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making.
• Forklift certification and other relevant certifications are a plus.
